Default [?] Looking to buy some SONY TCD-D7 or TCD-D8 DAT recorders

Hi,

I wish to purchase ten to twelve SONY TCD-D7 or TCD-D8 portable DAT
recorders which, I understand, are no longer in production having been
superceded a few years ago by recorders using newer technology.

So, if anyone in this NG has stock of either of those models to sell
please get in touch and let me know what price you are expecting to
receive for them.

TIA - Dave.

Forget the D7 unless you have no requirement for sound quality. I had one
for a while - very easy to overload and harsh grainy sound quality even when
not overloaded.

I understand the D8 is significantly better.

Have you considered Sony's HiMD recorders for this task? They can record in
PCM (no more ATRAC compression) and transfer that back to the PC at high
speed via USB. They can use the newer 1GB HiMD discs, so they can store a
pretty good amount of sound, even when it's uncompressed.
