"Digital Audio" brand speakers.
I recently came into possesion of a set of 5.1 speakers by the brand
"Digital Audio". Have you ever heard of this brand? They came in a box that said not much, it just has the DVD, DTS and Dolby PRO LOGIC, logos on them and pictures of the system. No manuals or anything, This was purchased by someone else, but I'd like to make use of it. I know nothing of speakers and sound systems, but it looks like I need a reciever and an amp, the subwoofer is not internally powered, and has 8 connections in the back, 4 input, 4 output. Which would connect to two sets of double wires. Any help you can give me will be greatly appriciated. If pictures could help, I'd be glad to take some with my digital camera. I just want to know if these things are real, the box says SRP 1,999.00 but this seems really steep, plus this is all made in china. Was the person who bought this originally ripped off, and that's why they were never used? Lightning |

Yeah, I remember when I first saw "digital ready" on headphones and such, back
when cds first came out. It was such a blatant "**** you stupid sucker consumer" that it was almost surreal.....but then, not really. And this was from companies like Sony and Panasonic, who push "pro audio" gear. Geoff Wood wrote: "Lightning" wrote in message om... Do a google search on this newsgroup for "white van speaker." It's a scam operation that has been running in a lot of different countries for quite a few years. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. Do a Google search on this newsgroup for "white van speaker." It's
a scam operation that has been running in a lot of different countries for quite a few years. A few years ago, when one of these scammers approached me in an Office Depot parking lot, I told him I owned speakers that cost $11K a pair -- each of which was driven by a $6000 amplifier. He turned purple and started screaming. "How can you own speakers that cost more than a car!?" "Living well is the best revenge," ne-cest pas? |

Markup couldn't be much, but overhead would be low as hell. I can see it now - a gleaming fleet of ford vans with 'white van audio' emblazoned on the sides, glinting in the sun. The bad guys would be out of business in no time. jb |
