I'm lovin' my new 01v96, but doing digital transfers to/from my computer
using the lightpipe (both in and out, no analog conversion), the transferred
tracks are about 1020 samples later than the source tracks. (I'm applying
some EQ and Compression to the tracks in the 01v96). Is this normal? I have
a feeling someone's gonna say RTFM ;-)

This may or may not be documented in the manual. Latency is typical,
but 1020 samples worth seems like quite a bit.

I'm not sure what you're doing or what you mean by "transferred" and
"source" tracks. If you're sending a track out of your computer, into
the console, and back to the computer, you're dealing with latency of
the computer (twice) as well as latency of the console. If you want to
find out what the console is doing to you, just connect the computer's
digital output back to its input and do a test recording. That will
tell you what a round trip (without the console) takes.

There are hundreds of "fixes" for computer latency, all of which are
effective to some extent. It's something that you just keep working
with until you decide that it's low enough so that you can live with
it. The other solution is simply to re-align tracks after you've done
your dirty work.
