Default car stereo problem

i have a car stereo that i took out from another car. it was running
fine and it would power up. im installing it in a new car,and i
attached the 3 wires correctly, the ground, the 12v+ constant and the
12v+ switched. now it wont power up(i dont see the light on the front
panel screen light up), BUT it will eject a cd and when i put a cd in
there it will take it. can somebody help me with this problem. i know i
touched the ground wire of the car to a small battery and i had to
replace a fuse and that worked(before the eject wasnt working, and some
of my lights,so i replaced one of the "15"fuse and it was working
again). could it be i have to replace another fuse? thanks

I guess this is a CD changer, right

It sounds like your not getting power to the 12v+ switched wire (red?). it
could be a blown fuse, bad connection or maybe with all the fuses blowing
you may have damaged something inside the changer. If you have a test meter,
test for 12 volts right at the changer plug to make sure your getting both
12 volt sources (constant and switched)

no this is a regular car cd player, not the changer.

and also,it cant be that im not getting power on the 12v+ switched,
because i tried to disconnect it,then the eject wouldnt work
anymore,so it is indeed giving it power.the wires are connected
properly im sure.if i try to disconnect one of them, then the eject
doesnt work no more so it has to be connected properly.

also, when i blew up the fuses,no time was the stereo connected the
time it happened,so nothing in the stereo could have been damaged.

thanks
