Default Delt 410 mutes and pan do not work

I just got a Delta 410 and the mutes do not seem to work in the mixer view
or the pans..
Most/all of everything else seems to work. Does this mean the card is
damaged or is it a configuration issue? Anyone know?

Like I said everything else seems to work fine.

When I ran an mp3 from the Windows player, the mute on the Windows player
worked but in the mixer window of the card, when I clicked on the mute - the
graphic in the mixer stopped like it was muted but I could still hear the
sound. The pan sliders do not seem to do anything either in the card mixer
window - everything else seems to work. Also, in the Windows mixer of the
card, the mute did not work either. Damaged card?

Are you using the most up-to-date driver,
http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers. It usually take
M-Audio a couple of times to get their drivers to work properly! I would
guess the card is fine.

Yes. I tried a couple of drivers. I like the card and will replace it. I did
find that the Wndows mixer DOES mute and pan the card BUT the mixer view of
the card software trying to mute or pan does not work though everything else
seems to work and there is no audio issues. I suspect the mixer chip has
been damaged. I bought this as an 'open box' so I suspect it was originally
returned to the reseller with this issue. It is guaranteed so I am about to
get an RMA but I am trying to be absolutely sure of a problem before I send
it back. My theory is that the previous owner may have plugged in the out/in
plug interface while the computer was running (says in manual this could
damage the card) causing damage to the mixer chip. Anyone agree?

Thanks for the response. I am a little mystified why the windows mixer if I
bring it up for a given 'out' like 1/2 or 3/4 mutes it and pans it but the
card mixer does not. I have tried the earliar driver too than the latest.

If you go into the delta's mixer application and goto hardware tab and
see if 1/2 out is set to Wave 1/2 or monitor mixer. Try both settings.
That might solve your problem.
