Default A lack of bass.

I?ve got a little audio system.
I fell it?s a bit badly equilibrate, the high frequency are pretty
good, but the low frequency don?t bring me satisfaction.

Integrate-amplifier : NAD C 300
2-way Speakers : Triangle Zephyr XS
Phono-preamplifier : NAD PP1
Turntable : an old grundig
CD player : Philips CD 723 (very (too?) cheap).

I can change something, but when I?ll be a great person I?ll afford me
a better system, but for the moment.. I just want to listing music a
little bit better !

PS : I listen Jazz, Classic, Rock (prog, alternativ, punk) and
electro-music; so a little bit of everything.

Add an 8 or 10" sub. around $350 and you have more bass. Assuming your room
is less than 15' x 20'

Have you checked that the speakers are not wired out of phase? This may
reduce the bass dramatically.

Gareth.

The room has more influence on the bass response than
any component in your system. Try moving the speakers
and/or listening position if you can. Moving the
speakers closer to the walls & corners will increase
the bass. Move your listening position a few feet
forward and backward to see if you can get a more
powerful bass response at another location.

I can't imagine a different CD player would improve bass. Other than a
sub. the best way is with a 1/3 octave equalizer. I added a Rane unit
and I can get so much bass that I have to be careful not to shatter the
windows on some CDs. I can boost 40hz and 50 hz as much as 12dB without
affecting higher frequencies.

For $50.00 more assuming you live inthe U.S. you can get 12" Adire Audio
sub. You will have to pay shipping.
