James Randi and Stereophile tussle
Readers will recall that Randi issued a challenge to some audio
publishing/marketing folk to do a test in support of the claims that various audio tweeks,ie. stones etc., can be heard. That was some weeks ago, now he tells us that Stereophile in the nov. issue has an opinion piece in which some "views" are expressed about him and the challenge. To recap, he offers a 1,000,000 US dallar prize to anyone who can, in this case, demonstrate being able to hear such tweeks. Mr. Atkins, of Stereophile, made a point in this group that Randi had not contacted his publication and that the question of the "stones" etc. had been addressed in previous issues. The current status of the question can be seen he http://www.randi.org/jr/111204hot.html#7 |

Apparently he can think of nothing to say beyond making fun of the fact that Randi changed his name. I'm ashamed of Art for making such a schoolyard taunt. Norm Strong |
