Sounds like one of you small signal tubes is microphonic.
I would try some other 6sl7s to start with. HYDEBEE wrote: please email me at if you have any suggestions.here is the problem, i bought a couple of organ amps that had been converted to audio amps, the caps, resistors etc had been replaced the amp used 4 5881 tubes , 2 6sl7 tubes and 2 5u4 tubes , the previous owner added a volume control, the problem is at no volume you hear static on the speakers , it goes away with the volume turned up, if you tap the chassis you hear this on the speakers, any suggestion to making the amps totally silent-?is it the volume control or the input tubes? |
