decent quality headset mic and phones
I have recently entered the area of internet conferencing (using Yahoo
messenger software) and I'm thinking about getting a headset with mic and phones. A friend of mine has such a headset (no idea of make or model) and we discovered that it has considerable acoustic coupling between the mic and phones which causes a bad echo for someone who talks to him over the net. This is an area in which I have no experience so I'd like some help with choosing a unit. I will do a Google search as well. Doesn't the conferencing software have some sort of sidetone cancellation? This is an area in which I have no experience so I'd like some help with choosing a unit. I will do a Google search as well. Add Sennheiser to your list as well. |

Yes and that did help some but it took a long time for him to optimize the settings and it didnt completely solve the problem. When he used a seperate mic and headphones there was absolutely no echo. I figure better to solve the problem at the source. Garth~ "I think the fact that music can come up a wire is a miracle." Ed Cherney |

The problem is most of the good headsets (like the Beyer DT-100 rig with the mike) have low-Z dynamic mikes that don't interface well with a soundcard. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra.
