horn speakers i said quote "similar to klipsch" the dirty basterds lawyers demanded i remove the ad or withdraw the name klipsch, i never stated they were klipsch but when did we lose the right to say a word or use a word in the ad, as i said i never said they were klipsch i only said they were similar with horns, so for you klipsch you suck bigtime!!!!! I hate to say this, because I'm no fan of Klipsch speakers, but I tend to agree with them. The issue is, how "similar" is "similar"? If you say that a Saturn is similar to a Mercedes, the statement is literally true -- they're "similar" in that they're both automobiles, and will move you from point A to point B. But the word "similar" implies a greater degree of "likeness" than simply performing the same general function, or using the same sorts of components. When you say these speakers are "similar" to Klipsches, the reader might reasonably assume that they were similar in quality. And that's what has Klipsch upset. Are they close in quality to the Klipsch? If they are, and you can demonstrate it, then you should have the right to say so. But if they're "similar" only in that they're all-horn systems -- well, that's like saying a Cessna is "similar" to a 747. |

They own the name Klipsch, you do not. How would you feel if you owned BMW, and I advertised my Yugo to be like a BMW because they both have 4 wheels? I am sure you would complain. Klipsch has been especially vigilant on E-bay lately due to a large amount of grey market equipment that turned up. -john- -- ================================================== ==================== John A. Hydebee,
I think you're targeting the wrong people. I'm presuming eBay sent you the warning, not Klipsch. eBay prohibits use of "bait" words in auction titles. This screws up people actually searching for Klipsch items, by "polluting" their search results. In the early days at eBay, people were putting "Western Electric" and "Marantz" in all their titles, just so people searching would see their ads. This is the basis for the action by eBay. Hey Bee,
You may want to go back and check your own ad. I just did, and on your listing under brand, it says klipsch! I'm sure it's just an oversight on your part. Not trying to be a turd hydebee, heck I even bought a Pioneer RT909 reel to reel from you in the past! Larry |

They own the NAME, and as a fan and owner of the famous Klipschorn and
Heritage Family, you are SCAMMING by stating it's KLIPSCH, you have a HORN LOADED system PERIOD built by Dick, Harry, and Steve. Stop trying to sell and make the EXTRA $$$$ by using THEIR name when it's NOT theirs, and I wouldn't buy it.! If I wanted to sell my TRUE Khorns on Ebay I'm sure Klipsch wouldn't have any issue! just MO.
