Default USB hum/noise isolation?

StudioDog,

Let's try to find out where the noise occurs, during recording or playback.
Can you record say 10 seconds of silence? Just connect the behringer,
preferable with short circuited input or, if possible, with a gain setting
of 0. Do the same with the Aleses and mail me the WAV files (no mp3 for
obvious reasons). I'll check the files on my setup.

Then, to check the playback chain, download this WAV file:
www.customware.nl/silence.wav

and play it. See if you hear any noise now. This file is 30 seconds of
complete silence (all samples are 0).
