Valve radio
I have a Magnum Dynalab 90T FM radio which has one 6922 valve in it.
Given the 10,000 hour life of the valve, should I leave it switched on all the time ? (stops drift) ta in advance |

Valve radio
Yes...is the answer....ACtually valves last longer when left on. They
usually fail during turn on transients, after being cold...... "Dave xxxx" wrote in message .. . I have a Magnum Dynalab 90T FM radio which has one 6922 valve in it. Given the 10,000 hour life of the valve, should I leave it switched on all the time ? (stops drift) ta in advance |

"Dave xxxx" I have a Magnum Dynalab 90T FM radio which has one 6922 valve in it. Given the 10,000 hour life of the valve, should I leave it switched on all the time ? (stops drift) ** 10,000 hours is only 11% more than 1 year. Either fit a " standby switch " to disable the HT, like guitar amps e - or fit a 15W, 240 volt pilot lamp inside to replace the heat generated by the valves when the set is off. ........ Phil |
