Default Diamond Cut DC6 versus Adobe Audition versus GoldWave

Which of the three is best for cleaning up recordings of vinyl records? Due
to academic pricing, I can actually get Audition cheaper than DC6. But DC6
seems to be positioned specifically for this application whereas Audition
aims to do everything for everybody.

There's also Soundsoap, though that's intended to be able to remove
noise from live recordings so it isn't tuned specifically for cleaning
up records. There's also a version of that kind of training-based noise
reduction included in some versions of Cakewalk Pyro (and that feature
turns out to be a VST plug-in so you can try swiping it for use with
real DAW cade).
