Default MP3 playing order was: Kenwood deck playing mp3's question

Hi again,
I did some more digging and talked to a few people about the problem I
posted here on the 13th. The Kenwood deck has no effect on playing order of
music files burned to disc except in random mode. The software used to burn
the tracks is key.

Turns out that iTunes from Apple was the answer to my problems. At nearly
21Mb in size it's rather large but it is one sweet piece of software. I got
the Windows version and I'm running XP with SP2. Program installed and works
flawlessly. Help files and website support (basically a detailed version of
help files) are excellent and accurate.

Now my tunes all burn and play in the order *I* want. No need to put numbers
in front of your track names. The Smart Playlists are an awesome feature and
the streaming radio works perfectly while your ripping or burning tunes.
Burn speed/time is very good. MP3 sound quality is indistinguishable from
original CD using headphones. Printing options for creating jewel
cases/inserts or just printing song lists are excellent as well.

The only real drawback is that ripping a CD is a bit slower than other
programs. They move along at 2-4 times regular play speed with Error Control
turned on. The only oddity is that Folder 1 never shows up on my Kenwood
deck when searching through folders on a disc. If AC/DC Highway to Hell is
folder one on the disc then it shows up as folder 2 on the deck. All
subsequent folders are shifted ahead by one numeral. It's not really a
problem though, just strange.

Cheers,
Bill Cotten
