Default Anyone know any particulars of the Anna Nalick recording of"Breathe"? How they got that sound?

I'm recording a girl singing to some karaoke tracks and one of the
songs she's doing is Anna Nalick's hit "Breathe".

Listening to the original, what strikes me is the presence and
character of her vocal is totally different than what I'm getting. I'm
not at all unhappy with the results I'm getting, my friend's vocals
certainly sound clean and clear, but Anna's is just "different", and
I mean beyond the fact that she sounds like Anna Nalick and my friend
doesn't.

In fact, I'd say part of what I'm hearing is that Anna's vocals
actually sound a bit less crisp/clear than the one's I'm recording.

Any idea as to what might have been done to her vocal to give that
particular character?

Asked another way, what do you think -you- would do to get that
sound? Do you hear the signature sound of a particular mic or type of
mic, or is it more the result of processing?
