Default Old Fart Looking for Boring Black CD/MP3 Head Unit!

OK, I'm over 40. THere I said it...

I'm driving a 1999 Toyota Sienna Van (yeah I know.. But I can hall
more crap around than you can!) and I just want a decent quality
replacement for my factory double din unit that's starting to act
up... Single DIN is fine. I need CD and MP3 AND I need an AUX in for
my new iRiver HD MP3 Jukebox. Budget is $250-$350.

No offense to you young hip/hop types and metal heads, but I like my
head units to be black and unobtrusive, not billboards with neon
colors and silver face plates... I entered my specs at Sounddomain
and all the units / brands they displayed seem to have this kind of
"look".

Can anyone direct me to a decent head unit that has the CD/MP3 and
AUX-IN that may be a bit more understated for us old farts?

Thanks!

Get a Kenwood KD-SH99. It's got all you want. I sometimes plug my iPod
into the front AUX input.

When you get it home, carefully disassemble the removable faceplate.
It has a fascia panel that can be removed. Paint it flat black, then
reassemble. What you end up with is a few tiny silver buttons sticking
through the front of a black faceplate.

I can send you photos of mine if you want.

You have a JVC, not a Kenwood.

Yes, it's a JVC (sorry for the mixup). But it WAS silver until I
painted it. The point was it offered everything I was looking for, but
it was silver. However the fascia can be removed and painted.

That's odd. Every KD-SH99 I've ever seen was silver. In fact, so was my
old KD-SH77.

Yes, that's why I said you could paint the fascia black.
