FireWire interface
Hi, I am shopping for a FW interface so that I can justify getting a
notebook to use as a DAW. I am looking at the Firepod10 by Presonus. I am not a fan of that company however because I have their "blue tue" pre which is the noisiest pre ive ever heard (i know what do you want for $100!). I like the firepod because it has direct outs so i can record live with mics and di, and still bring it home to use as the DAW interface (which does not have FW). Does anyone have experience with these? How are the pre's? -Alan |

FireWire interface
I set up my nephew's recording room/project studio with a Firepod (came
bundled with CubaseLE) on a Compaq desktop. I know what you mean about that 'blue tube' pre. I had one of those and it was noisy. This version of the Firepod is a tad limited - only has two pre's, but there's about 6 line in on 1/4" - but it sounds okay for an under $300 interface. As usual, YMMV. |
