It's a negative hypothesis but even after years of attempting to train you, I don't seem to be able to keep you from posting those, Weil. For openers Weil, name a specific public elementary school book store that currently sells the Bible. This used to be done, but the liberal ACLU has and surely would put a stop to it were it to become known. Actually, I don't know of any public elementary school book stores. I didn't know that elementary schools had book stores. Of course, I haven't been in an elementary school in a long time. Are you telling me that they now run in-school book stores? Ironic that what started this subthread was an attempt to ban the mention of a certain religious figure from this newsgroup. |

Tell me how to set up a technically-correct DBT for God, and...
Piece of cake, Arny. I once was blind. Now I see. You once were blind. Now you see. Next case? |

Yes, they are no better, no more holy, and no more connected to
any supreme being than anyone else. True. I don't claim to be any better and I certainly don't think I'm more holy than anyone else. In fact, the closer one draws to God the more apparent one's short-comings. It's this thing about all that light. :^) |

Don't you understand how insulting that is to other people's beliefs?
Nope. Matt said nothing negative about you or your beliefs. He didn't even say that you need to be like him or believe like him. He said that he prays that you will receive lots of good things. There was not even a hint of condescension in his post; only his express desire that you receive many blessings. You have every right to think and believe what you want to but don't insult other people's views. He didn't insult your beliefs or views. jesus is not my lord nor the lord of about 2\3 of this planet. In a sense that is true. Jesus even said that His "kingdom is not of this world." The protagonist is Christian but as he travels through the book's journey he learns much of value from people of diverse faiths. I have many Orthodox Jewish clients whose lifestyle and faith is very different from mine. You may believe it, I don't and the majority of the world don't and the evidence is sparse at best that he was anything more than an average Joe. One cannot even ascertain reliably that he existed. Therefore to say that Jesus is Lord is an absolute truth is false. To say that you believe Jesus is Lord is something you believe to be true is as far as you can stretch your argument.Anything else is nothing more than your attempt to suggest that your belief system is the only correct one, and that others by fiat are incorrect. Prove it....that is such a scam. If there was an validity
to this healing thing some scientist somewhere on the planet would have acknowledged this. It would be well documented by some OBJECTIVE person. My older brother was diagnosed with fourth stage cancer almost five years ago. He had lung cancer from 40+ years of smoking. It had spread to his brain and adrenal system. There was a golf ball size tumor in the center of the brain. The surgeon said he had a 50/50 chance of surviving the operation but that in any event he would not last five months as the cancer had metastasized. I learned of this less than 24 hours before he was to undergo emergency surgery. I got a flight reservation and arrived at the hospital only minutes before they would wheel him into the operating room. Most of the family and many friends were already there. I asked the doctor to wait a moment, got everyone around the gurney and we began to pray. I don't know any fancy, memorized prayers. I just asked Jesus to save my brother's life. We all prayed together and I figuratively handed my brother over to the Lord. Then they took him away. Five and a half hours later the doctor came out to tell us that the surgery was a success. They had removed all of the cancer from my brother's brain. It wasn't ganglion so they got it all in one operation. The bad news was that the brain cancer was secondary; that his body was full of the disease. We cried but still trusted God as best we could. I must admit that my faith isn't as strong as some. I believed God but I had lingering doubts. Not everyone is healed and very few are ever healed of fourth stage cancer. The operation was on a Friday in late December, right after Christmas. Eight hours after the surgery my brother awoke; disconnected the monitor cables from his head, chest and arm; got up and walked out of his room in the intensive care unit. This triggered an alarm and the nursing staff came running. They made him go back to bed. The next day when we came to visit he was sitting up, telling jokes and asking for his favorite breakfast, ovos rancheros -- spicy, Mexican-style, scrambled eggs. On Sunday he was released from the hospital. The doctors said his progress was unbelievable. But he still had cancer in his lungs and adrenal system. He was still under the sentence of death. We continued to pray, grateful for every day that we could still share with my brother. After a month or two he went in for a chest X-ray. Something was wrong. The doctor looked at the film and opened the previous one again. The cancer in his lungs was shrinking! Within three more months it was completely gone. A lung biopsy showed lots of cancer cells -- all dead and in the process of being slowly absorbed, replaced by pink, healthy lung tissue. We finally had real hope but his adrenal system was still full of cancer. Another biopsy was ordered. The doctor pulled out sample after sample from my brother. There was no sign of a living tumor. This year we will celebrate my brother's fifth cancer-free Christmas. We thought we would never have another one together. You can dismiss it all as luck, medical treatment or whatever you like. My brother asked his doctor what he thought had happened. He said, "It's a miracle. You were healed." Reading my previous post again, I think I was unfair. I didn't mean to
imply that I believe anything regarding these alleged fantasies. AFAIK they never occurred. Just as I choose not to try to dig up dirt on Arny, I'm not interested in a witch hunt against you. You are truly fooling yourself if you think that your pompous, evangelical way of dealing with things is respectful to anyone. |

I have also experimented with some of the things Jesus said and found them to be reliable and repeatable. You have no idea what Jesus might have said. I have no absolutely certain idea what zillions of historical figure that are routinely quoted, actually said. Neither do you or anybody else. Given the SOTA of digital imaging and audio, I have no absolutely sure idea what zillions of contemporary figures said or are saying. I don't have a clue as to who you really are. So what? All you have read is what someone else said that Jesus said, Ditto for those zillions of historical and contemporary figures. and you are not reading it in the same language as it was written. Ditto that, too. Did Caesar say: "You too, Brutus?". I'm really sure he didn't! (Shakespeare has him saying it in a work of historical fiction) I'm sure that just about everybody with a brain knows that, too. I guess that proves that all kinds of literature and history books are full of lies. Or convenient fictions. Or useful abstractions. As to all of your above comments, thank you very much for supporting my point about the Bible. So what's your point sockpuppet Yustabe except that you're deceptively trying to uniquely saddle the Bible with an extremely widespread problem? Hey, you've tried to do the same thing with ABX, so maybe I should take heart... The point is that one cannot take the Bible literally. I am sorry that you are too stupid to understand that. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Mr. Bass, I hope you take note of this, for the record.
Noted. As far as I'm concerned this whole "fantasy" thing is probably just a USENET flame anyway. I'm much more interested in your thoughs on audio than what someone else says you may or may not have done somewhere else at some time in the past. The same applies to Arny. I'd rather read his ideas about wave form propagation than someone else's ideas about Arny. I will note, for the record, that I have never knowingly participated in any such claims of paedophila regarding Mr. Krueger. Good. Mr. Bass, please read until the end. I will have a comment to offer. OK. Mr. Bass - please compare and contrast my answers to you and Arnold's. Hopefully, this shows the reason why RAO heaps so much scorn on Mr. Krueger *and* makes your initial statement about him misguided. Perhaps I was unclear. I have looked at RAO maybe twice in the six+ years I've been active on USENET. One thing I have noticed is that whenever there's a newsgroup war on any forum both sides claim (and probably believe) that the majority of other participants stand beside them. In most cases neither is right. I came here to share my ideas and to learn from the ideas of others. That includes you and Arny. OK??? |
