think he would be able to hear that much of a difference between the
two different input voltages. I did incorrectly state that the volume
needs to increase 10dB for there to be a perceivable difference in
sound, I was rather inebriated off of several large sakes when I first
wrote that, but a 10dB increase will audibly sound twice the original
volume.

FWIW ... I still have that amp, and it's doing very well indeed (I need a
1400 to go with it o_O ) but I don't remember you being quite so abrasive
back then tube :-)

gathering dust too. My car sucks, no room to put front

I am talking about the 1 x 400W @ 4ohm ... in the charcoal finish, put them
together with the cap and it would look like a 3 foot long amp growing on
the trunk lid :-)

Some time ago, I mentioned that I was in the market for said amp (PPI PC1400
in charcoal) and someone replied that 2 models could be found that had
radically different power output. The better ones put out closer to 1000W @
2ohm. Can't remember who said it though. My Orion XTR10 would just thunder
strapped to a PC1400 !
