I bought my daughter a radio/cd player for Christmas. I am going to try
removing the old radio and installing the new in her car. It's a 2001
Pontiac Grand AM. Any advice on how to remove the old radio etc?

That stereo should come out by 2 or 4 bolts around the outside of the radio
under a dash panel. Pull and push around (lightly) till you find the trim or
panel that comes loose around the radio. Once you have it out and are ready
to put the new one it. Dont cut the harness. I wasnt sure if you knew this
or not, but. You should go buy an install kit, if you dont already know.
Much easier, safer, and reversable if you use a factory to after market
wiring harness adapter.

Pop off the kill cylinder bezel, very gently. Then remove the shroud cover
the radio and temp controls, unplug cigarette cable, and hazard and ETS
cables. Remove 3 screws holding radio in.
