Default Servo lock

It is an "active" PLL which "pulls in" and maintains best tuning, as
determined by a low average voltage at the discriminator test points. Like
automatically centering, and keeping centered, a conventional center-tuning
meter.

Hi,
I recently picked up Marantz ST450 tuner (manuf.1979). Can
somebody tell me what is "servo lock"? What is its purpose and
how does it work? Is it comparable with PLL?
