Default The QUAD system

FOR ITS DAY, the QUAD system was really good.

For its day. By today's standards not so much, but then they did not
have what we had for a reference.

You can not judge something made nearly 60 years ago by strictly
modern standards.

With only refurbishment and cleaning up a vintage QUAD tube system
is, well, vintage. If you want vintage, then there you go. If not, buy
a new one.

The Quad equipment was made to work as a system with proprietary
cables. This was good because it allowed the units to be switched
remotely.

Don't booger them up with IEC and RCA connectors. Leave them alone or
build a new one from scratch.

I love BOOGERING UP ALL SORTS of amplifiers made by a wide range of
designers who for a variety of reasons left out or included features
which limited the use of the gear in one way or another. For eg, the
Jones plug and the Bulgin mains plugs and sockets without an earth
wire are BS and safety first afaiac. Then I want all that OLD JUNK,
and a pile of other JUNK much more recently made to comply with MY
ideas about performance and to meet the fussy expectations of
audiophiles who ate4 technically illiterate, who wish to mix and match
different components, and who don't like clouds of smoke and
distortion 1dB higher than IT CAN BE.

I care about the ppl I work for and I don't much care about the
ARMCHAIR SOLDERERS here.
