Default Tannoy Monitor Gold intermittent socket

I have a pair of 10 inch Tannoy Monitor Golds in cabinets. Recently one has
gone intermittent on one driver. I have traced the fault to the small 4 pin
plug & socket on the speaker itself that connects the crossover to the
drivers. You can bend the cable and get it to connect but if you let it go
one or other driver gets no signal. I have tried cleaning the the plug
contacts but this has not helped and I have checked the soldered
connections on the plug are OK. So it looks like the socket is the culprit.
I would prefer to replace the plug/socket with something newer and more
reliable but I am reluctant to remove the socket as it is attached to the
speaker chassis and I don't want to risk damaging the driver leads or the
LF cone.

Anyone had experience with this or have ideas as to how to fix it?

Cheers

Ian
