Many of us follow and learn, and someday will contribute more. If RAT
further degenerates, it will not longer be a useful forum. Take
responsibility for not responding.

** Even anonymous Hotmailing, Google Groups' posing halfwits like
"maynard" (??? ) are becoming nauseas at the lingering putrid stench of
steaming faeces Pat Turner extrudes out his backside and PLOPS on the NG.

One lie after another after another after another ................

Plop, plop, plop, plop, plop, plop, plop .......

I'd like to feel I didn't have to respond the way I do to Andre Jute.
Sometimes I read his posts, like the one yesterday about Loftin White
amps, ( and the LW is indeed a rare beast),
and I felt no anger or need to say a single word, since I feel
he gave a good answer to a good question.

But he's the one with Jekyl and Hyde personalities, and who spends much
time likening me to
the "Magnequest Mob", and trying to defame me at every turn.
My daily accurate assessments of his confabulations are then taken as
insult upon
insult, and for me, its just like having to sweep the leaves away from my
front door.

He shouldn't call me "scum" every day, its not nice.

He's the man you should be aiming your concerns about the
group life, since he has a program against me based on lies,
as I have pointed out to all in recent days.

Meanwhile, just because I have some business to attend to with Andre,
there is no reason the group won't survive.

Its OUR group, and not mine, or Andre's.

The groups survival depends on those who turn up and want to
discuss how to do things, and why things happen,
to augment what they teach themselves in their workshops,
and from old books and other web adresses.
If ppl are put off by the occasional row between a confabulating author
with his facts
about me all wrong, and a serious builder of audio amps,
who is prepared to share his knowlege freely,
then it ain't my fault.

Stick around, be cool, be happy, maybe you learn a bit, maybe you teach a
bit.

When one is heavily into SE amps, there are now lots of specialist
forums on SE designs.
So why would those whose passion is SET amps spend time here?
There are only a few of the hundreds who read the postings have ever
dabled in SET.
They would rather spend time with other specialists.
I have a couple of friends here with SET amps, and they make wonderful
amps, and they are somewhat sensitive young men with no stomach
for the bear pit of live worldwide open debate.

The fact so many forums exist mean that there is a dilution of
discussions, but then each little group gets to exchange ideas,
and if you want more, then you join more groups.
Usually the Andre Jute type gets barred from being in a group which has
rules and requires a password, because the group has the right to exclude
anyome who posts
a personally acrimonious posting, even if he's right.

My father was a local council Mayor and elected for 9 years.
Council meetings were not a place meant for those easily upset by men
arguing,
and at that time, nearly all belching smoke at each other from cigarettes
and pipes.
My father was a member of the Ratepayers Committee,
and Progress Association, and always sided with the ordinary person,
rather than with big business, developers, and central governments.

I learned to give fair critic to those who need it more than they want it.

To my SET user friends, worldwide debate means little to
to them, and their way to enlightenment
is through disconnection, and reconnection of different parts,
and stepping back to listen.
One man changes his system almost daily, with a sea of aligator clips
across the loungeroom floor.
He knows that debating venues like RAT attract all sorts of folks he'd
rather not
have to talk to, or even view from a distance, since it disturbs and
unsettles.

The idea you are going to always have a one stop debating shop for all
forms of tube craft is unrealistic.

We rarely see postings by people into tube RF transmitters.
Its a tiny % of folks who use tubes.

Patrick Turner.
