I would of course prefer that they'd stuck with the original hard wiring
component board and sockets bolted to the chassis.

BTW, how do you check what something sells for after an Ebay auction is
over?
I ask because ppl want valuations sometimes, like the dude who
lost a pair of Leaks and Quads in mint in a workshop fire recently,
and he wanted to know the worth, since he said he was insured for
replacement value.

It's too late! They already fabbeed a PCB . . ;-)

On eBay, you can search for historical closing (i.e. final) prices by using
the "Completed Items Only" filter. You have to be a member to take
advantage of it, AFAIK.

Audiogon also has some pricing data for folks that want two witnesses.

Method 2: List a fictitious item was for sale on rec.audio.marketplace.
Bwine would give you his version of the Blue Book value, and you simply
multiply this figure by 4 or 5 to get a true valuation.

Using method #2 gives Bob Moron something to live for, which may be a
significant drawback.
