Tube & BJT hybrid amps?
Anyone build a good 5-50W powered hybrid amp? I'm not happy with commerical
MOSFET hybrids (too soft). I have seen a schematic using a unity gain 6SN7 front end and standard push-pull stage. |

I used FET's and a quad op amp in a direct coupled circuit. They sounded great!!! |

I have seen a schematic using a unity gain 6SN7 front end and standard push-pull stage. Go for it! The 6SN7 is a very good sounding tube. Too bad the BJTs destroy that character -- Sander deWaal Vacuum Audio Consultancy |

Has anyone invented a tube class T amp? |
