remote mixer via pc/mac
was wondering if anybody knows of any company that makes a live mixer
board that can also be controlled by the pc/mac (pc preferably). I've seen one at disneyland, where the guy was controlling the audio from a PC wirelessly via wifi. when i glanced at the screen, there was the full mixerboard on display, and when he wanted one of the channels higher, he would just click and drag it up. if anybody has more information, that would be greatly appreciated. thanks! |

remote mixer via pc/mac

oups.com was wondering if anybody knows of any company that makes a live mixer board that can also be controlled by the pc/mac (pc preferably). One would be Yamaha. The low-mid Yamaha digital mixers (01V96, 02R96, DM1000, DM2000 etc) have a USB port and a program called "Studio Manager". The main screeen of Studio Manager is an image of a mixing panel that is somewhat more full-featured than the real one. It indicates the status of the mixer in a window and controls the operation of the real mixer with a mouse. I've seen one at disneyland, where the guy was controlling the audio from a PC wirelessly via wifi. Lots of people do that. You either remote the USB link, or you use a remote control program to control the desktop of a PC running Studio Manager. when i glanced at the screen, there was the full mixerboard on display, and when he wanted one of the channels higher, he would just click and drag it up. if anybody has more information, that would be greatly appreciated. thanks! Sounds like Studio Manager - I have it running but via a hard-wired USB link. |
