Default DualDisc the hottest audio format

Did you hear that Jennifer Lopez's new DualDisc was mentioned on CNN's
Headline News? Here's the article it's in on Audio Video Revolution...

Title: DualDisc Perks Up as SACD and DVD-Audio Die Off

"In the wake of the format war between DVD-Audio and SACD where no side
could even come close to claiming any level of victory, the hybrid format of
DualDisc (CD on one side and DVD on the other) is suddenly showing signs of
life. Yesterday, March 2, a record critic analyst from Clear Channel Radio
was on CNNšs Headline News, talking about J-Lošs new album and how
radio-friendly it was. Rebirth, the new album from Jennifer Lopez on Epic
Records, is being released as a DualDisc, according to the source from Clear
Channel. "

Here's a link to the whole article...

I think it's pretty cool that we finally have a winner out of the new audio
formats. What do you guys think?

I dislike DualDisc for many reasons. The main one is that most of
them have trouble in one or another of my players (mostly CD side).
Another is that the labelling is completely inadequate in telling you
exactly what's on the disc before you buy it. There are others.

I think you sound like a corporate shill, trying to drum up support for
either another format, or (more likely) Ms. Lopez's new album. I also think
that any article which treats the word of a Clear Channel representative as
anything other than weaselly lies is either incredibly naive, or a disguised
advertisement.

Furthermore, I think that the ways the record labels and the radio stations
have worked out to get around the payola laws are reprehensible in the
extreme. I think that the people behind it deserve to be charged BILLIONS
(yes, billions) of dollars in punitive fines, and then spend the rest of
their natural lives in jail.

I also think that the commercial music industry is quickly headed towards
the same oblivion as commercial formula radio. Sooner or later, the veneer
is going to crack, and people will wake up to the realisation that they've
been listening exclusively to manufactured crap for two decades, when there's
a whole world of great music out there.

I think that within my lifetime, the entire entertainment industry's
financial and delivery model is going to crumble and be rebuilt. I HOPE
that it's going to be based on talented artists being able to make a good
and comfortable (but not necessarily obscene) living from their work, and
talentless hacks having to find alternative employment, but I'm not so
optimistic about that part.

That's what I think. What do YOU think, Diane Sherwin?

I just got one. it was labeled clearly in an extra plastic sleeve, and
it's played everywhere so far, including my car. I'm going to get more.

Labelled clearly? What audio formats did it say it had?

I don't know anything about dual disc formats, but I have seen reviews
that say even among JLo discs, this one is a dog.

I think it's sort of early to be declaring a winner. If the things
are still around in 5 years I'd say you can start to think maybe it's
going to make it.

By then we'll all have terabyte portable multimedia players and we'll
laugh about the days when music and video actually came on a disc.
