headlight question
Any idea why my highbeams work but not my lowbeams. Replaced headlights
but still have the problem. I thought a recent radio replacement screwed something up but had them check everything they did with no results. They think there might be a relay that went bad. Fuses are ok. This is a 96 jeep cherokee sport. |

This is a 96 jeep cherokee sport. I would double-check the fuses. Take a multimeter or a test light and check the wires going into and coming out of the fuse for voltage. There's probably only one fuse for both high-beams, and I've had blown fuses that looked okay. The other thing to check would be the headlamp switch itself. When you move it to the high-beam position, do the low beams go out like they should? -- Scott Gardner "Besides that, Mrs. Kennedy, how was your trip to Dallas?" |

headlight question
The low beams are never on so I can't check the switch as you recommend.
Is it really possible that there's a separate fuse for the highbeams? I thought only one fuse would serve the headlights. I thought only one fuse would serve the headlights. Sorry - I mis-read your post. I thought your low-beams were working, but not your high-beams, not the other way around. As for the fuses, most cars do have separate fuses for the low- and high-beams. Your owner's manual should list their locations. Some cars even have four fuses, one each for left-low, right-low, left-high and right-high. -- Scott Gardner "The most fundamental law of wartime negotiations; you negotiate with the enemy with your knee in his chest and your knife at his throat.
