Default barcus berry dyna sync

I am looking to find out more about this piece of equipment which is
really
unknown and perhaps someone can help me out - here is a description :

The unit make is "Barcus Berry Dyna Sync" and is in a 2 unit rack that
is
completely black. There are two potentiometers which are regulated with
a
screwdriver and the unit has the following connections :
1 x jack and 1 x female xlr marked 'Line In'
2 x jacks marked 'Amp In'
2 x banana type connectors (red and black) marked 'Amp Out Rec' plus
another 2 x banana type connectors marked 'Load'

Does anyone out there have any idea what this does and what the
individual
connectors are for ?
