Major time warp, brand new in the box a/d/s/ 4" component system with

I thought I knew a thing or two about car audio. What the hell is a
"bayonet-mounted" tweeter????

This technique is very popular in the army along with Bazooka subs and
bullet tweeters.

These have the same "bayonet" mounting that a/d/s/ invented for the
legendary 320i component speaker system... metal disc with wires attached
and contact points to connect to the spring-loaded terminals on the back of
the tweeters. The tweeters attach by rotating them onto bayonets located
around the edge of the disc. The disc mounts inside a steel cup with flanged
edges which is secured to the panel with another steel backing cup.

Much nicer arrangement than the newer all-plastic mounts.
