Default Export ID Tag Info & Photo

I would like to export/extract ID tag info from a large number of MP3
files. I am interested in exporting the 'Artist', 'Album' and the
'Cover Art' fields to a file such as an Excel or CSV file. My plan is
to be able to import the resulting file into a database.

If that's not possible, can the "Cover Art' be extracted to individual
JPG files that are assigned the 'Album' as the JPG's name?

Does anyone know of a software program that can accomplish either of
these things?

Regards...John

eyeD3 can be run from the command line and scripted to do all sorts of
things like that. You can run a find on the whole filesystem, exec
eyeD3 on each one and have it spit out whatever fields you want to a file.

Mp3tag can export tag information to any form or text file you like
(html, csv, etc.) Cover art can be extracted using the Actions
function.

Excellent program. I'm constantly amazed at what it can do.

Another good choice: Tag & Rename.

I much prefer it to MP3 Tag, plus T&R will work with a lot of other non-MP3
formats.

Try them both. I have, and to me, Tag & Rename is far better in many ways.
I have no connection to the company at all except as a satisfied customer.

OK, I'll check out the trial version, but I wonder if it will be worth
$30 to me when the free Mp3tag does everything I want and more.

You're probably right, but then again, maybe it will be, like,

OHMYGODWHEREHAVEYOUBEENALLMYLIFE
I'MSUREGLADIDIDN'TTHROWMYSELFINTOTHATWOODCHIPPERTH ATTIME

and then I'll live contentedly for the rest till the end of my days.

Could happen, right?

Anythings possible, but I wouldn't bet my money on it :-)
I'd just download the trial and test it for myself instead.

Trevor.

Sorry that I took so long to reply. Tried Mp3tag with the Actions
function and it did the trick. I've been a long time fan of Tag &
Rename, but I couldn't geit it to achieve the same result. No matter.
Thanks to you all for your time and advice.

Chalk one up for the free software then :-)
