Export ID Tag Info & Photo
I would like to export/extract ID tag info from a large number of MP3
files. I am interested in exporting the 'Artist', 'Album' and the 'Cover Art' fields to a file such as an Excel or CSV file. My plan is to be able to import the resulting file into a database. If that's not possible, can the "Cover Art' be extracted to individual JPG files that are assigned the 'Album' as the JPG's name? Does anyone know of a software program that can accomplish either of these things? Regards...John |

You can run a find on the whole filesystem, exec eyeD3 on each one and have it spit out whatever fields you want to a file. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

Mp3tag can export tag information to any form or text file you like (html, csv, etc.) Cover art can be extracted using the Actions function. http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ Excellent program. I'm constantly amazed at what it can do. |

OK, I'll check out the trial version, but I wonder if it will be worth $30 to me when the free Mp3tag does everything I want and more. |

Sorry that I took so long to reply. Tried Mp3tag with the Actions
function and it did the trick. I've been a long time fan of Tag & Rename, but I couldn't geit it to achieve the same result. No matter. Thanks to you all for your time and advice. John |
