Default Dynaco Stereo 160 - As-is or Part out?

I couldn't find much info about this amp online - it's a Dynaco Stereo 160
power amp. It is missing the power transformer, but the output transformers
are present. I haven't tested them yet. Is this amp worth anything as-is, or
should I part it out for the OPT's, etc.? I got the impression that it might
be rare, so I don't want to rip it further apart if it might be better left
intact.

thanks,

Dave

Thanks François,

I have a co-worker who is looking for some output iron for KT88-based power
amps that he is building and I told him I might have something for him, but
when I tried to find information about this Dynaco amp online, nobody seemed
to know what it was, so I was afraid it might be too rare or valuable to
someone to use for parts. I guess if nobody knows what it is, then it
wouldn't hurt to part it out.

Dave

The S 160 was a KT 88-based high power amp launched by Panor in the '80s.

Very few S 160 have been manufactured. Quality unknown.

Well if I do part this out, I am hoping I can get at least a hundred bucks
for the pair of OPT's - the core iron measures 2.5 x 3.5 x 4.25 inches and
they should be good for KT88's up to at least 80 watts or more. I posted
some pics of the amp at:

sincere thanks to everyone for your input!

Panor wasn't a best grade manufacturer by any means, so it's likely
the opt's are either Mk II/III Dyna or Hammonds or similar.

yup, I would say they used A-431 iron, but that's only a guess. AFAICT,
Panor never used Hammonds
