RCA splitters are the easiest. I did that and I think the signal was
slightly weaker, but it mighta been my imagination.. No big deal, you
just might have to adjust your gains a little higher, which is no
problem, unless you're already maxed out..

Only one set of RCAs on HU? Y's work just like he says. You could get a
line driver or crossover too, if you need to, but try the splitters
first.

You can use the splitters, no problem, but you may want to look into
going ahead and getting a 1/2 DIN equalizer that has a fader and a
Subwoofer crossover built-in. Kenwood, Clarion and Alpine make very
nice ones in the $100-$150 range brand new, and they are very
versatile pieces. The Kenwood KGC-4042A is actually a 1/4 DIN sized
killer little EQ that has a fader 5 bands of equalization and a
subwoofer/high pass crossover. You should be able to get one of those
off of eBay for well UNDER $100.

The EQ is a good idea and adds additional value to the system (sound
shaping, fader, etc.)

Short of that, if the second amp has pass-through connectors, wire it first
and let the existing amp take signal from the new amp.

The one question I would ask that doesn't seem to have been put
forward as of yet is "What kind of speakers are these new ones you're
adding?" Are they full-range speakers (e.g. coaxials) or are they
subwoofers? I'd be interested to know some more details of your system
as it currently stands and also what you're planning for it. Without
knowing these two bits of information, it's going to be a bit
difficult for anyone to give you really good advice as to how to truly
solve your problem.
