Default Alpine Type X or two Type R's both 12"

I'm wondering whether i should buy one Type X 12" with a ported box or
two 12" Type R's with a ported box. Im goin for a high SPL and also
great sound quality. I know Type X is designed for sound quality with
a high 1000rms and i also think i've heard they are ment for a sealed
box... and the Type R's have good SQ at 500rms so two makes 1000rms
total. Ive heard that two R's would produce a higer SPL because of
the extra cone surface area. In anouther form some ppl were talking
about XXX and Treo subs, are these compitition subs or what because
they were explained to have a higher SPL and probably cost more. If
anyone has SPL ratings on either (or both) two 12" Type R's in a normal
ported box or one Type X in a ported box please let me know. I want
the loudest bang for the buck (literally) and great sound quality in
which both subs have. BTW I believe two Type R's 12" is cheaper.

Well, if you don't get a response to your first post, chances are one
of the following is true:

1. nobody knows enough about the topic to comment on it,

2. your question doesn't have a good answer because it's too
subjective,

3. exceedingly poor grammar/puncutation or just a generally
hard-to-understand post
(e.g. "ppl", "ur", "l@m3"), or

4. your audience has deemed it unworthy of anything but snide
comments for whatever personal reasons they might have.

This newsgroup really doens't get a *ton* of posts, so it's not like
your post will be lost in a flurry of new messages. So, if you don't
get a response the first time, posting again is likely just to be
perceived as as whining or nagging or just plain general "pesty-ness".

I personally fall into categories #1 and #2...the only subs I've ever
been very happy with are JL Audio, so that's all I recommend to
people...so as the great prophet Forrest Gump once said "That's all I
have to say about that."
