This caught my eye and I was wondering if anyone here had looked at it
in further detail.

I gather it's so new I don't see a lot about drivers, driver reliability.

I don't see any reference to software similar to Motu Cuemix.

Not sure if you can control gain from the DAW or whether you would have
to do it at the unit.

You probably won't. Aphex is a reputable company that mostly deals with
professional hardware so it's kind of off the radar for people who talk
about "driver reliability." You just have to trust them, and it'll
probably be OK or they'll fix it/

There is none since the box is just an audio interface and doesn't
contain any DSP hardware. Usually on devices like this input monitoring
while overdubbing is handled by a simple analog mixer that combines the
input signal with the DAW playback. I don't see any control or button
for that, however the manual does mention a "control panel" in the
Windows software section. Perhaps there's a check box in there for input
monitoring during playback.

Surely not. Aphex is primarily an analog company.

Thank you for the comments. I listened to one of the videos and learned
that the drivers are by "CEntrance".

From the manual:

MIDI I/O
These connections allow your DAW to send and receive MIDI data.
Common uses would include connecting a control surface, trans-
mitting MIDI Clock, MIDI Time Code, MIDI program changes, etc.
Consult your DAW's manual for more information about the use of
MIDI devices.

That's good to know CEntrance writes drivers for a lot of USB audio
interfaces and their work is solid. Drivers won't be a worry.
