How accurate is the Mac AudioTest.app?
They don't provide and specs. The assumption is it should be perfectly

How accurate is the Mac AudioTest.app?
I see no reason why it should not be accurate because it all happens in the
digital domain. Here is a site with online audio testing: http://www.audiocheck.net/ The one test I have used for yyears that originally came on a Chesky test cd is: Online LEDR This is excellent for testing in room speaker placement and room based anomalies. Any deviation from the described sound pattern goal suggests the source of an anomaly given the part of the test in which it appears. By changing speaker placement and/or reflections etc. until the sound pattern goal is achieved one has as good a setup as is possible in that room. It is an objective listening alone test for this purpose. There are many other useful test sound sources there also for various aspects of sound reproduction and listening testing. |
