Default Sound coming out of my monitors

Could someone please tell me why all of a sudden I'm hearing very faint
sounds, voices, coming out of my monitors and headphones too?
This just happened yesterday for the first time.
Sounds like it could be a radio station.

If you know, , , could you please suggest a fix.
Something in the grounding of my gear?

Thanks

J

Because you have an RFI issue. Can you tell what station it is?

Start disconnecting things until you find the smallest possible configuration
that produces the problem. Then start working from there up. If possible,
identify the station and whether it is AM or FM.

Classic cause is a bad plug/socket contacy, or possibly a bad solder
joint. Unplug cables until it goes away.

What did you change yesterday? A new cable, new piece of gear, fell
over a cable and yanked it....?

Too little info to diagnose effectively.

Can you distinguisha specitic radio station in the noise. Maybe they
installed a digger transmitter ? Beyond that, more info is needed.

What's the age of the monitor amp btw / make / model etc etc if you have
it. It could be solved by EMI/EMC protection on the inputs which MIGHT
easily be do-able by yourself.

Definitely. AM is the big rogue. Did they install an Orban Optimod recently ?
(Bob where are you ?) FM is rarely a problem.

Rectification contact with certain contact materials. Good point. That's why
PROs use XLRs in balanced (differential) mode and the contacts are usually
silver, gold or nickel.

All other good points. Look for what's changed by intention or accident.
