Web retailers are clearing these things out, sounddomain has em for
$139 + $22 shipping which sounds like a bargain.

Wondering if anybody is using one of these and how it sounds and what
kindof power you're putting to it. I would be running it with a 100W
RMS Alpine mono sub.

Thinking of buying one to use in the interim while I build a box and
find a 12" sub I like. Suppose I could sell it later pretty easily on
ebay for $80 or so. May sell the amp too considering 100W RMS might
not be enough for a 12" sub.

Check the sub specs out he

Thanks, respond to group.

Seems like a decent deal considering what they used to go for. But for that
money, there are much better subs out there.

Personally, I think the MOMO line crashed for a good reason. I actually
considered their speakers (but not necessarily their subs) inferior to the
old dB and MM lines, both of which are personal favorites of mine. I have
no experience with the new dB line. Anyone know if they resurrected the old
speakers? Or are they just ripping off the name?

I put a set of db650's (6.5" round) in my son's car ('98 Acura Integra
4-door) and I hate them. I'm the only one in the world who does, I think.
Maybe I got a bad pair...but they're just muddy as all getout - and I've
checked polarity and phase...they're just... ugh. Installed JBL GTO 6x9
coaxials in the rear....and they just ROCK. Both pairs running off hu
(Alpine 9813) power. I have to attenuate the rears substantially (not
fader - but the input levels) to get the sound evened up - and the rears
still kick the db650's in all aspects (treble response, bass response,
loudness and clarity).

Those must be the newer ones, yes? That model number isn't one of the older
series.

It's probably mostly a sensitivity issue. The older dB series components
needed to be run off of an amp for sure. The newer ones may also have the
low sensitivity. How did you install them? Doors? Did you seal them well?
Did you have to create your own baffle?

Yep, the new ones.

Both pairs of speakers are rated at 91dB sensitivity. The db650's are
installed in the factory spaces in the door. Used the factory
mounting plate (cut the back off), and sealed it with a ring of
"dyna-mat-like" material (g). All I can say is "ugh" Maybe I'll just
run 150 watts RMS to each of 'em...hehe that'll make 'em work.

I agree, but not WITH a box. Assuming of course one doesnt already have the
equipment to build their own box, I think its not a bad deal. The funny
part is, Circuit City want near 300 bucks for this same sub!!
