Default Protools--I'm tired of the Instability-- :( :(

I've about had it with Protools tanking under Windows so i have been
experimenting with Linux for the past 2 months or so and I am pleased to
report that the dynebolic Linux distribution does just about everything I
can do with ProTools except crash.

And best of all it is FREE!

I predickt that Linux DAW applications will overtake Protools within 2
years or so, less if we can get the word out!

So give it (Linux) a try and join the fold of millions of other Linux
users who have freed themselves from the propriatory leg chains of
commercial software and are contributing to the Linux community.

Give Peace a chance, and Linux too.

ProTools is *very* specific about what hardware it runs on...always
check the hardware compatability docs online first.

I have had *no* problems whatsoever with my PT 6.4 TDM system on a
Carillon PC.

That being said, that linux distro looks pretty interesting - certainly
worth looking at

Best Regards, James

No PPC? that's a shame. I'll get Ubuntu soon. Do you reckon it would be
easy enough to take the 'multi-media' stuff and run it on Ubuntu?
Obvious newbie question.

Ubuntu is debian based, so you could point to the agnula/demudi package
sources and install that over ubuntu (there's an easy-goggleable how-to
around there)

don't know about dyne:bolic.

(i've taken out the mac advocacy group from the send list)
