Default Mitsubishi Home Speakers

I have a pair of Mitsubishi MS-20 home speakers I bought in 1979. The bass
speaker is an aluminum honeycomb, but the foam around the cone is starting
to deteriorate, along with some paper on the tweeter.

I drove the speakers to a speaker repair place in Fort Worth, Texas, but
they could not repair them. A search of the internet only shows car speaker
parts. I called the USA rep and they have no knowledge.

Anyone have ideas on repair? I really enjoy the sound.

There is a place in Rochester, NY that will rebuild the speaker from
scratch.Do a Google for Rochester and speaker rebuild.

If the driver is round then the surround can most likely be replaced. I
recall that driver type in the time period andsome of them were square, in
wich case replacement surrounds will be more of a problem, but even then
some of the round foam types might be flexable enough to conform to the
square shape.
