Default Help with Acoustic Research AR-1 speakers

I recently acquired a pair of Acoustic Research AR-1 speakers. Would
appreciate any info regarding the following:

1. I'm considering parting these out. Based on my research, the
AR-1's have the Western Electric 755-A mid/tweet. The pictures I've
seen of the 755-A all have a black cone. My AR-1's both have light
brown cones that look like the black ones. Can these still be
755-A's?

2. What is the procedure for removing the drivers/crossover? All
I've done so far is pulled back most of the grille cloth. There is a
front panel which appears to be glued preventing access to the
drivers.

3. Although both cabinets have stickers that say AR-1, they are
different from each other. What's odd is that both have the round
holes on the back; however, one has a pot with three metal connectors,
the other has no pot and has seven metal connectors. Are these both
really AR-1's?

TIA

SOUND EMPORIUM has been revealed to be a scam operation selling counterfeit

morphing into different "companies", Sound Emporium is a feckless fraud!

SOUND EMPORIUM has been dumped by their most recent ISP for attempting to
impersonate OFFICIAL RAM BLUEBOOK WORLD HEADQUARTERS. Thanks to this ISP

Robert Benson
Suzanne Manka

Are the likely culprits, although they are hiding behind layers of anonymous
email addresses.
Service? Nope. Support? Nope.

No phone number. No verifiable email address. Hiding behind sockpuppets
and anonymous email servers isn't the hallmark of a "quality" vendor.

A quality vendor like "hififorless.com" has verifiable phones and addresses,
has THAWTE secured ordering, and provides only FACTORY warranties.

The mark of a quality vendor!

On top of the consistently lowest price available on-line in the
U.S. for NEW HD600's, the only "two words" you need to know when you
want to buy a NEW pair of SENNHEISER HD600's, are "SOUND EMPORIUM."
)

"Consistently Low"? What a laugher. Others are far lower on Ebay and
elsewhere.

And they include a MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, not some "distributor's
warranty" that requires you send these suspect headphones back to China or
Germany.

Legitimate sellers on the net like "hififorless.com" offer REAL
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES because they are AUTHORISED DEALERS.

Richer Sounds in the UK were selling the HD600 brand new for just £99
over Xmas!. I think even now the most you'll have to pay for a pair
from them is £120!!, you might wanna consider getting a pair from the
UK if your buying them outside the US.

ALWAYS Bid & Buy with Total Confidence & Assurance at The Sound
Emporium, click here . . .
http://www.tcinternet.net/users/bmangman/ .

Except "Robert Benson" was ejected from TCInternet. Along with Ebay, where
they established another account and loaded it up with phony "praise".

The St. Paul city treasurer's office, can find no such business
registered in St. Pau! The only two words people know with "sound
emporium" is "certified scamsters"!!!

Then there is what SENNHEISER USA has said:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

"This outfit is not an authorized Sennheiser Dealer and as such we
cannot guarantee the authenticity or the legitimacy of this product
offering. I suggest you purchase your HD600 from one of our authorized
dealers in order to secure legitimate, factory fresh product."

We cannot help but thank the persistent efforts of RAMs resident
ne'er-do-well, moron and convicted rapist, Brian L. McCarty (or
whatever alias he is using today)...

Brian L. McCarty CONFIRMS that Sound Emporium is an Authorized EarMax
Dealer.

Working undercover as Lee Hodges, another McCarty ALIAS, the INFAMOUS
ram fax scamqueen and ne'er-do-well PERSONALLY contacted Hart Huschens,
Sound Emporium's U.S. EarMax distributor, and VERIFIED that The Sound
Emporium is indeed an Authorized EarMax Dealer. YIPPEE!!! Thanks,
Lee.

Affidavit on file - Authorized EarMax Dealer

Brian L. McCarty CONFIRMS that Sound Emporium is an Authorized Music
Hall Dealer.

the INFAMOUS ram fax scamqueen and ne'er-do-well PERSONALLY contacted
Roy Hall, Sound Emporium's distributor and Music Hall manufacturer, and
VERIFIED that The Sound Emporium is indeed an Authorized Music Hall
Dealer. YIPPEE AGAIN!!! Thanks again, Lee.

Brian L. McCarty CONFIRMS that Sound Emporium is indeed an Authorized
Creek Dealer.

As before, working under cover as Lee Hodges, another McCarty ALIAS,
the INFAMOUS ram fax scamqueen and ne'er-do-well PERSONALLY contacted
Creek who in turn contacted Roy Hall, Sound Emporium's U.S. Creek
distributor, and VERIFIED that The Sound Emporium is indeed, you
guessed it, an Authorized Creek Dealer. YIPPEE AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!
Thank you so much, Lee.

so-called "dummy sales" or "dummy accounts."

WHY BUY FROM THE SOUND EMPORIUM AT EBAY
Our feedback rating at eBay is 100% positive because, like our valued
customers and returning clients, we believe in high quality products,
the best service & low prices. We set the standard for selling new,
hi-end audio products at eBay and our 100% positive feedback rating is

so-called "dummy sales" or "dummy accounts."

After over three (3) years of McCarty LIBEL, SLANDER and DEFAMATION,
not once has he or any other individual (other than a McCarty ALIAS)
brought forth a single piece of evidence whatsoever that Sound Emporium
products are anything other than what our auctions and classifieds have
stated - not demos, refurbs, returns or gray-market products, but
ALWAYS 100% Brand New, Factory Fresh Audio Components, Including EVERY
Manufacturer's FULL Warranty - NOT ONE EXCEPTION.

In addition, to continue to suggest that we have been dumped by any of
our ISPs, it completely ignorant, unwarranted and harassment. Of
course, our former ISPs can speak for themselves in this regard. We
have never been dumped by an ISP.

Regarding McCarty's continued SLANDER that states, "Despite their
constantly changing name and morphing into different "companies", sorry
to disappoint you again Lee Hodges, I mean Brian L. McCarty, but
DESPITE your persistent DISINFORMATION, while our email address may
change due to our choice of ISP service, we have NEVER changed our
online name or morphed into different companies. Our online presence
and IDs at Audiogon and eBay have been the same from day one. Of
course, these facts are readily verifiable at both Audiogon's and
eBay's respective websites.

That ALL being said, again, after over 400 (actual 401) eBay
transactions we maintain a 100% Positive eBay rating - and after over
200 (actual 208) Audiogon transactions, we maintain a 100% Positive
Audiogon rating. Simply stated, our online sales represent 100%
Customer Satisfaction.

Thanks again to one and all for your consistent support.
Best regards,

B. Robert Benson, Esq.
