Default Yamaha home theater and AV receivers

As I understand it, price.

The idea was to sell the HTR to lower end stores, and the RX line to high
end stores, but I don't know of any actual differences in build quality.

What's the difference between the Yamaha "home theater" and "AV"
receivers besides the numbering, HTR and RX?

They also contain differences in feature set as well. The RX line has
newer/higher end features that are not found in the HTR line. Usually when
a new RX comes out... it sometimes becomes a rebranded HTR receiver (more
or less).
