Trying to hook up an after market stereo to a 97' Toyota 4
runner. There seems to be a factory amp behind the factory stereo so
the wiring harness i buy is supposed to be the the right one but it
will not plug straight to the amp. Is there another alternative, some
different way to maybe bypass the factory amp? Just dont want to go
messin with anything till i get a second opinion. Thanks

....if you bypass the factory amp, you'll have two options:

1. Run all new wires to all of the speakers from your new aftermarket
deck.
2. Find the speaker wires that come out of the factory amp, and wire
them directly to your new deck.

That was a lot easier to type than it will be to do, but that's how I
see it going down for you...

There should be another harness on the bottom of the amp that should plug
into the wire harness
