DVD-Audio Channel Groups and 20 bit resolution
Hello,
is there anyone who knows about a commercially available DVD-Audio disc that have the following properties: 1. Different sample rate for different channel groups on the same track (e.g. 96/48 for channel group 1 and 2) 2. One, or more, tracks with 20 bit-depth? |

Thanks Urban,
but I know that Disc-Welder does not do item 1 above in neither of their releases. As for item 2, I wondered if there are any commercially available releases that utilize 20-bit resolution? Maybe there's even a site that states these kind of technical details for available DVD-Audio releases? But, while we're on the subject, is there any comparable products to DiscWelder out there? Is there more capable programs? |

Is there more capable programs? Steinberg's WaveLab is a complete, professional mastering package that will master DVD-Audio's. Check it out. As to tech databases for DVD-A...there is none to the best of my knowledge. In general, many DVD-A's don't even deliver what is printed on the package...it is a bit of a scandal, actually. However, the folks who know the most about what disks really contain are the folks who hang out on Audio Asylum in the DVD-Autobahn section, devoted to discussion of all things DVD-Audio. They most likely can and will be willing to help...if a 20 bit recording exists, they are likely to know about it. |
