Need help receiving Sirius....
I have a Pioneer 8600MP head unit and the optional Sirius module-SIR
PNR-1. Sometimes when I select the External option, I just get the word SIRIUS and no sound. I can't change the channel or do anything. I have reset the HU, turned the PNR-1 unit on and off, checked the ground, power, etc. nothing. This happened before and it came back after a few days. Any ideas what this problem could be? Thanks. |

MOSFET Thanks! I have been around, just kind of in limbo with regards to car audio. I am hopefully getting a newer car at somepoint and don't want to go through the hassle of uninstalling equipment. I have amps and speakers dying to be cranked! |

Need help receiving Sirius....
Nothing yet, This is in my wife's car. But I think that it's an issue because
the mp4500 hu is mx ready only. I am planning to try the sir-pnr1 tuner with a newer "sat ready" pioneer hu and if that doesn't work I'm going scrap the pioneer crap and get a kenwood setup (hu and tuner) like the one that I have in my own car, which works great. What did you end up doing? Did you use another Sirius receiver? |

I liked the idea of having SAT RADIO control through the head unit. But you
know what? I just use the AUX input and use the Sirius S50. I hard wired it in so it looks like a permanent unit but I can also take the media player with me with recorded content as well as MP3's and Woman's.. The buffer you can use to pause and rewind live broadcast is great and the set up is simple. I think you will like it.. After all, when you go in the house, your Pioneer Sat tuner in your car is useless.. "Captain Howdy" wrote in message ... Nothing yet, This is in my wife's car. I did check that, thanks. Am packing her up and sending it back to Pioneer. At least is has a full year warranty, not this 90 day thing. |

I didn't see it listed anywhere in the manual, so you might be right on the
money. I'll try to find an hu that is on their list and see if that works. Im not sure that unit is compatible. I looked in the manual and didn't see it listed. My unit also says XM ready but can use the PNR-1. I guess my unit just died. I called tech support and they said to send it in for repair. |
