Default Kicker L5 12/1000W Mono Block Amp clipping

I have a kicker l5 12 and it is wired parrell to be in 1 ohm. my amp
puts out 550 rms at
1 ohm. The enclosure has .92 of airspace before the sub is intalled and
it is under the
backseat of my 04 Silverado ext. cab. The problem is I dont know if it
is because it isnt
broken in or the enclosure is too small, but it seems as if it is
distoring/clipping. I want it to
beat hard and be heard, and I know I have the amp and speaker to do it,
I am just curious if anyone has any tips on if i should get a bigger
box or if when the break-in period is up it will
sound better?
