I was wondering if anyone has an audio file of a ride cymbal swell by
softly/repeatly 'hitting' it with a timpani mallet. I would be very
greatful if anyone has something or can point me in the right
direction.

Sonic Implants has a free download of cymbal rolls in soundfont format.
Sounds great. Not sure what cymbal it is though.
