shockmounts and live sound
Hello,
I'm looking to reinforce an acoustic stage setup with a sensitive mic or two, rather than a bunch of sm-57's stuck all over the place. I've seen some bluegrass setups where they are actually singing into something like a TLM-103 rather than a typical dynamic mic. I think I've even seen some piano guys sing into a giant Neumann 149. Low stage volume, acoustic situations. So I'm wondering if shockmounts are a "don't leave home without it" tool in these situations. SM-58's and the like typically don't use shockmounts, but a sensitive large-diaphragm caridiod might want some hand-holding against the low-frequency stage rumbling monster. |
