You guys may have heard about this, but here is the latest:

Sony Vegas will supposedly do my desired rendering of a DD 5.1 surround
sound DVD. So I went to Adobe to see if they have the same thing for
Premiere and Encore. You will not believe the answer.

They are "end lifing" Encore because optical media are on the way out! You
read that right, CDs and DVDs are facing rough times because someone thinks
downloads and streaming will be more popular in the marketplace! That is
dire news for videographers, music producers, artists, companies around the
world. I just don't believe people will be sophisticated enough to get into
digital data and streaming that much. We will just end up selling them thumb
drives full of data instead of an optical disc.

And the opportunities for hacking and piracy - shiver me timbers!
